Building a Weapon Through Repetition

A strong moment from last weekend’s top junior elite competition (2012) in the state. The work we have been building through ball striking, shooting, and free-kick training started to show in a real game moment. A direct free kick from around 30 metres helped change the flow of the match. At the top junior level, the ability to strike the ball with quality over different distances becomes a real weapon, regardless of position. For attackers/defenders especially, passing range, ball striking, and set-piece quality can add another dimension to their game. Daily repetition is slowly becoming visible on the pitch.
